Slide Show: Plimoth Plantation
Few if any of the interpreters at Plimoth Plantation talk about their work as "just a job."
Puritan interpreters, who act and speak as though it were 1627, spend countless hours studying the fine details of the Pilgrims' history and perfecting the crafts they used in their everyday lives.
The Wampanoag interpreters, many of whom are present day members of the tribe, conduct similar research, but present it from a contemporary viewpoint as part of a living heritage.
In both instances the interpreters strive to create as accurate a picture as possible and dismiss the stereotypes that have built up around the Thanksgiving holiday.
